Background: Mahwish is a second year undergraduate student at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She is studying Movement Science in the School of Kinesiology. She has interned at the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry and is a current Research Assistant in the Muscle Biology Lab in the School of Kinesiology. She enjoys working with kids and regularly tutors children of all ages with various organizations. She is also passionate about mental health awareness, as she is a chat helpline volunteer with the National Eating Disorders Association and is training to be a peer listener for “hEARt Listens” a helpline organization at her university. She also has experience in creating educational fitness content as she is a Health and Fitness Intern for a grassroots organization called UpCancer.
Motivations: Mahwish is concerned with the social and scientific aspects of health, is passionate about wellness and enjoys raising awareness for issues such as mental health and social issues.
Goals: Professionally, Mahwish would like to go to medical school. In SAC, Mahwish hopes to develop her leadership skills, help lead and facilitate numerous impactful projects, and meet many new enthusiastic people.
