Arshiya Adhnon is a 4th year medical student at Dubai Medical College, Dubai, UAE. During her tenure as the Head of Science Department of her university’s Student Union, she played a central role in organizing several medical and research events and also organized several extracurricular activities as well. She placed first in the Arts and Crafts Category of her university’s Talent Show every time she participated. She has always been interested in volunteering and giving back to the community, and is a part of local volunteering organizations, and organized a fundraiser to give back to the non-teaching staff in her college. She has been interested in public speaking and debates, and has participated in Model United Nations conferences. She is an avid reader, is keenly interested in art, and likes to watch anime and Kdramas in her free time.
She decided to join SAC due to her interests in advocating for global health and removal of mental health stigma, and with an interest in increasing public health awareness in various health topics. She is also interested in various research fields, and believes meeting like minded people in SAC would help her grow and hone several skills.
She hopes to become an accomplished healthcare professional with a focus on evidence based and patient centered practice. She also hopes to help less-privileged people globally.
